Under the Beech Trees With a Book

»Z bukvo pod bukve« (Under the beech trees with a book), the presentation of the Manual for Learning through Play in the Forest (Slovenian version), took place in the forests surrounding the Slovenian Forestry Institute.
Over 80 teachers, nature educators and forest pedagogues took part in the event. Under the beech trees they listened to talks from the authors of the Manual and took part in forest pedagogic activities. They took a quick tour of the Forest experiments experimental plot, and they even got a chance to see forest learning in action – children from OŠ Valentina Vodnika Ljubljana were exploring forest soil and tree roots during a workshop, parallel to the event.
The guests enjoyed the campfire and together created a beautiful forest mandala. In the end, they enjoyed forest snacks and herbal tea while observing a forest-themed children’s art exhibition.
The Manual and the event Under the beech trees with a book were co-funded by the LIFE LIFEGENMON, LIFE ManFor C.BD and EEA Grants GoForMura project. The Manual will be released in English in early 2017.
