Scientific Summit Gozd in Les (Forest and Wood): Idea, Innovation, Invention

The Scientific Summit Gozd in Les (Forest and Wood) is an annual gathering of young and younger researchers in the fields of forestry and wood science and technology, where the most interesting findings in this field are presented to a scientific, expert and professional audience. The summit is traditionally co-organized by the Slovenian Forestry Institute, the Biotechnical Faculty of University of Ljubljana and the Slovenian Institute of Pulpwood and Paper.

This year summit was held on May 12^th in the Linhart hall of Cankarjev dom, Ljubljana, Slovenia. Papers related to forestry, forest wood and technology and related fields were presented with the objective of knowledge-sharing between different researchers, institutions and other stakeholders in the forest-based sector. LIFEGENMON project and its relevant outputs were presented at the summit.

The event also had an international flavor with a keynote presentation and a poster from the guests from the Remote Sensing Division of the Polish Institute of Aviation, who participated in the event in the framework of LIFEGENMON and LIFE HESOFF project networking cooperation. Over 70 visitors participated in the conference. After the presentations, the crowd and the presenters were led to the upper floor of Cankarjev dom, where the woodwork exhibition Čar lesa 2016 took place.
