Member of the audience asking questions

Wednesday, 9th September 2015. The LIFEGENMON (LIFE for European Forest Genetic Monitoring System) project was presented to a global audience at the XIV Forestry Congress in Durban, South Africa. The presentation was the part of a EUFORINNO global workshop titled: European forest research and innovation – supporting and monitoring resilience of forests to climate change (event flyer is available here, find our more here).

The project was presented by prof. dr. Hojka Kraigher, project coordinator and dr. Marjana Westergren, a specialist in the field of forest genetics (read our interview with dr. Westergren from the Congress). They talked about LIFEGENMON as a project, different levels of biodiversity, forest genetic monitoring and other relevant topics.

The project presentation made a good impression and the presenters were asked to elaborate on their statements by several members of the audience after the presentation.

You can find more photos from the presentation here. Live tweets from the event and other social media activity is recorded here. The full presentation from dr. Westergren is available below.
