LIFEGENMON on TV: Are Our Forests Endangered?

The LIFEGENMON project team as featured in the main Slovenian scientific TV show Ugriznimo znanost (Let’s bite into science!) on RTV Slovenija in the episode titled: “Ali so naši gozdovi ogroženi? (Are our forests endangered?).

In the episode, predictions on the effects of environmental (climate) changes on Slovenian forests are presented – in the next 100 years, significant changes in forest species structure are predicted. Experts and scientists are then interviewed on how to address these issues. LIFEGENMON project members Prof. Dr. Hojka Kraigher, Dr. Marjana Westergren, Dr. Gregor Božič, Tijana Martinović and Domen Finžgar (all from the Slovenian Forestry Institute) offer insight, expertise and solutions on how these issues are being addressed and why is the state of forest genetic resources in turn forest genetic monitoring so important for the future of Slovenian and European forests.
