Raise awareness about the importance of forests

The LIFEGENMON team is going to take part in the 5 th Seikh Sou Road Run. Seikh Sou, also known as Kedrinos Hill. It is the suburban forest of Thessaloniki stretching along the southern and southwestern slopes of Chortiatis from Eptapyrgio to Asvestoxori. It is the city’s lung and a recreation area for its inhabitants. The name derives from the Sheikh’s water surce. Its origin came from a tap that used to exist at a Muslim cemetery monument (türbe), the ruins of which still exists in the area of a Thousand Trees.

The aim is to raise awareness about the importance of forests and the need for their protection.

Perhaps it is difficult to imagine that one individual can make a difference yet the choices that we make everyday concerning the way we commute, what we eat , how we behave and how we exercise can make a powerful contribution to the health of our planet. The way that our societies are built and our very busy every day lives have turned us away from nature. We must realise that our personal actions and the global environment sustainability are interdependent.

We welcome anyone who is interested in joining us on the 4.5 kilometer walk! All that is necessary is a good spirit.
Meeting point at the entry pavilion of Seikh Sou, 100 meters from the overpass of the Ring Road, at the extension of Perrevou Road in Ano Toumba, at 8:30.
